Go, and say to Hezeki´ah, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.
Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.
Twenty and five years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name also was Abi, the daughter of Zachari´ah.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent to Hezeki´ah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, That which thou hast prayed to me against Sennach´erib king of Assyria I have heard.
For in the eighth year of his reign, while he was yet young, he began to seek after the God of David his father: and in the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places, and the groves, and the carved images, and the molten images.
Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear unto my cry; hold not thy peace at my tears: for I am a stranger with thee, and a sojourner, as all my fathers were.
Then Isaiah the son of Amoz sent unto Hezeki´ah, saying, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Whereas thou hast prayed to me against Sennach´erib king of Assyria:
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zechari´ah: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
