And they returned, and came to En–mish´pat, which is Kadesh, and smote all the country of the Amal´ekites, and also the Amorites, that dwelt in Haz´azon–ta´mar.
Then there came some that told Jehosh´aphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Haz´azon–ta´mar, which is En–ge´di.
And it shall come to pass, that the fishers shall stand upon it from En–ge´di even unto En–eg´la-im; they shall be a place to spread forth nets; their fish shall be according to their kinds, as the fish of the great sea, exceeding many.
And by the border of Gad, at the south side southward, the border shall be even from Tamar unto the waters of strife in Kadesh, and to the river toward the great sea.
And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land.
For the Amal´ekites and the Canaanites are there before you, and ye shall fall by the sword: because ye are turned away from the Lord, therefore the Lord will not be with you.
Then came the children of Israel, even the whole congregation, into the desert of Zin in the first month: and the people abode in Kadesh; and Miriam died there, and was buried there.
And when he looked on Am´alek, he took up his parable, and said, Am´alek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
And when we departed from Horeb, we went through all that great and terrible wilderness, which ye saw by the way of the mountain of the Amorites, as the Lord our God commanded us; and we came to Ka´desh–barne´a.
