of Syria, and of Moab, and of the children of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Am´alek, and of the spoil of Hadade´zer, son of Rehob, king of Zobah.

And when the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians were fled, then fled they also before Ab´ishai, and entered into the city. So Jo´ab returned from the children of Ammon, and came to Jerusalem.

And David and his men went up, and invaded the Gesh´urites, and the Gezrites, and the Amal´ekites: for those nations were of old the inhabitants of the land, as thou goest to Shur, even unto the land of Egypt.
And David smote them from the twilight even unto the evening of the next day: and there escaped not a man of them, save four hundred young men, which rode upon camels, and fled.
