And he wrote in the letter, saying, Set ye Uri´ah in the forefront of the hottest battle, and retire ye from him, that he may be smitten, and die.

And the men of the city went out, and fought with Jo´ab: and there fell some of the people of the servants of David; and Uri´ah the Hittite died also.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master's sons, and come to me to Jezreel by tomorrow this time. Now the king's sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

If a ruler hearken to lies, all his servants are wicked.

E´phra-im is oppressed and broken in judgment, because he willingly walked after the commandment.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
