And Rehobo´am slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother's name was Na´amah an Ammonitess. And Abi´jam his son reigned in his stead.
Jehu met with the brethren of Ahazi´ah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahazi´ah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.
and they came up into Judah, and brake into it, and carried away all the substance that was found in the king's house, and his sons also, and his wives; so that there was never a son left him, save Jeho´ahaz, the youngest of his sons.
Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign, and he reigned in Jerusalem eight years, and departed without being desired. Howbeit they buried him in the city of David, but not in the sepulchres of the kings.
Howbeit the Lord would not destroy the house of David, because of the covenant that he had made with David, and as he promised to give a light to him and to his sons for ever.
And the inhabitants of Jerusalem made Ahazi´ah his youngest son king in his stead: for the band of men that came with the Arabians to the camp had slain all the eldest. So Ahazi´ah the son of Jeho´ram king of Judah reigned.
And he returned to be healed in Jezreel because of the wounds which were given him at Ramah, when he fought with Haz´a-el king of Syria. And Azari´ah the son of Jeho´ram king of Judah went down to see Jeho´ram the son of Ahab at Jezreel, because he was sick.
And Jo´ash the king of Israel took Amazi´ah king of Judah, the son of Jo´ash, the son of Jeho´ahaz, at Beth–she´mesh, and brought him to Jerusalem, and brake down the wall of Jerusalem from the gate of E´phra-im to the corner gate, four hundred cubits.
