And it shall come to pass in that day, that the remnant of Israel, and such as are escaped of the house of Jacob, shall no more again stay upon him that smote them; but shall stay upon the Lord, the Holy One of Israel, in truth.
The Lord shall bring upon thee, and upon thy people, and upon thy father's house, days that have not come, from the day that E´phra-im departed from Judah; even the king of Assyria.
And now what hast thou to do in the way of Egypt, to drink the waters of Sihor? or what hast thou to do in the way of Assyria, to drink the waters of the river?
Thou hast played the whore also with the Assyrians, because thou wast unsatiable; yea, thou hast played the harlot with them, and yet couldest not be satisfied.
When E´phra-im saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went E´phra-im to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.
