It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other besides the Ammonites, came against Jehosh´aphat to battle.
And these written by name came in the days of Hezeki´ah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their flocks.
And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valor.
And, behold, Amari´ah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the Lord; and Zebadi´ah the son of Ish´ma-el, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the Lord shall be with the good.

After these things, and the establishment thereof, Sennach´erib king of Assyria came, and entered into Judah, and encamped against the fenced cities, and thought to win them for himself.
And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham, the son of Uzzi´ah, king of Judah, that Rezin the king of Syria, and Pekah the son of Remali´ah, king of Israel, went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.
Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the Lord; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities?
