Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uri´ah the Hittite to be thy wife.
And David commanded his young men, and they slew them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hanged them up over the pool in Hebron. But they took the head of Ish–bo´sheth, and buried it in the sepulchre of Abner in Hebron.
And it was told king Solomon that Jo´ab was fled unto the tabernacle of the Lord; and, behold, he is by the altar. Then Solomon sent Benai´ah the son of Jehoi´ada, saying, Go, fall upon him.
And the king said unto him, Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the innocent blood, which Jo´ab shed, from me, and from the house of my father.
So the king commanded Benai´ah the son of Jehoi´ada; which went out, and fell upon him, that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
And they said unto him, We are come down to bind thee, that we may deliver thee into the hand of the Philistines. And Samson said unto them, Swear unto me, that ye will not fall upon me yourselves.
And Samuel said, As thy sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the Lord in Gilgal.
