1 Kings 16:31King James Version - American EditionAnd it came to pass, as if it had been a light thing for him to walk in the sins of Jerobo´am the son of Nebat, that he took to wife Jez´ebel the daughter of Ethba´al king of the Zido´ni-ans, and went and served Ba´al, and worshipped him. When the Lord thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Gir´gashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Per´izzites, and the Hivites, and the Jeb´usites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
Then the five men departed, and came to La´ish, and saw the people that were therein, how they dwelt careless, after the manner of the Zido´ni-ans, quiet and secure; and there was no magistrate in the land, that might put them to shame in any thing; and they were far from the Zido´ni-ans, and had no business with any man.
