I will rise now and go about in the city, in the streets and in the broad places. I will seek Him whom my soul loves. I sought Him, but I did not find Him.
Tell me, You whom my soul loves, where do You feed; where do You lie down at noon? For should I be as one who is veiled beside the flocks of Your companions?
And there is not one who calls on Your name, who stirs himself up to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us, and have melted us away into the hand of our iniquities.
Roam around in Jerusalem’s streets and see now, and know, and seek in her open places if you can find a man, if there is one who does justice who seeks truth; and I will pardon her.
