Because knowing God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful. But they became vain in their reasonings, and their undiscerning heart was darkened.

And Jehovah saw that the evil of man was great on the earth, and every purpose of the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the day.

And Jehovah smelled the soothing fragrance, and Jehovah said in His heart, I will never again curse the ground for the sake of man, because the purpose of the heart of man is evil from his youth. Yea, I will not again smite every living thing as I have done.

And the king of Syria’s servants said to him, Their God is a god of the hills; on account of this they were stronger than we; but let us fight against them in the plain, and surely, we shall be stronger than they?

And they rejected His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and went after the vain thing, and became vain, and after the nations that were around them, of whom Jehovah had commanded them not to act like them.

Whoever offers thanks glorifies Me; and he who sets a way, I will show the salvation of God to him.

So I gave them up to the stubbornness of their own hearts; they walked in their own counsels.

All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You; yea, Lord, they shall glorify Your name.

See, this only I have found, that God has made man upright, but they have sought out many inventions.

For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the peoples. But Jehovah shall rise on you, and His glory shall be seen on you.

O Jehovah, my strength and my fortress, and my refuge in the day of affliction, the nations shall come to You from the ends of the earth and say, Our fathers have inherited only lies, vanity, and there is no profit in them.

The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is incurable; who can know it?

So says Jehovah, What iniquity have your fathers found in Me, that they went far from Me and have walked after vanity, and have become vain?

but they have walked after the stubbornness of their own heart, and after the Baals, which their fathers taught them;

so that I may capture the house of Israel in their own heart, who are estranged from Me by their idols, all of them.

And I also gave them statutes that were not good, and judgments by which they could not live.

For she did not know that I gave her grain and new wine and oil, and I multiplied to her silver and the gold they made for Baal.

And this is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness more than the Light, for their works were evil.

to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness into light, and from the authority of Satan onto God, in order for them to receive remission of sins, and an inheritance among the ones being sanctified by faith into Me.

because the thing known of God is clearly known within them, for God revealed it to them.

And even as they did not think fit to have God in their knowledge, God gave them over to an unfit mind, to do the things not fitting

“let their eyes be darkened, not to see, and their back through all bent.” LXXPsa. 68:23, 24; MT-Psa. 69:22, 23

and the nations on behalf of mercy to glorify God, even as it is written, “Because of this I will confess to You among the nations, and I will sing praise to Your name.” Psa. 18:49

And you shall grope at noonday as the blind grope in darkness. And you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be always oppressed and plundered all the days; and there will be no one to save.

For men will be lovers of themselves, money-lovers, braggarts, arrogant, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

knowing that not with corruptible things, silver or gold, were you redeemed from your worthless way of life handed down from your fathers,

But you are “an elect race,” “a royal priesthood,” “a holy nation,” “a people for possession,” so that “you may proclaim the excellencies” of the One who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; LXX-Ex. 23:22; MT-Ex. 19:5, 6

saying in a great voice, Fear God, and give glory to Him, because the hour of His judgment has come; also, Worship the One “who has made the heaven, and the earth, and the sea,” and the springs of waters. Ex. 20:11

Who will not fear You, Lord, and not glorify Your name, not any? For You only are holy. For all the nations will come and will worship before You, because Your righteous deeds were made known.
