standing from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment came.
And, behold this, a chariot of a man comes, a pair of horses. And he answered and said, Babylon has fallen, has fallen! And He has shattered the graven images of her gods to the earth.
But these two things shall suddenly come to you in one day: loss of children, and widowhood; according to completeness they come on you, for your many sorceries, for the multitude of your great spells.
So Jehovah, the God of Hosts, the Lord, says this: Wailing shall be in all open squares, and they shall say in all the outside places, Alas! Alas! And they shall call the farmer to the mourning, and those knowing wailing to lamentation.
And another angel followed, saying, The great city, Babylon, has fallen, has fallen because of the wine of the anger of her fornication she made all nations to drink.
And the great city came to be into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And Babylon the great was remembered before God, to give to her the cup of the wine of the anger of His wrath.
And they threw dust on their heads, and cried out, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe! Woe to the great city, by which all the ones having ships in the sea were rich, from her costliness, because in one hour she was laid waste.
And one strong angel lifted a stone like a great millstone, and threw it into the sea, saying, Thus on a violent impulse, Babylon the great city will be thrown down, and it will not still be found, not ever!.
Because of this, in one day her plagues shall come: death, and mourning, and famine; and she will be consumed with fire, for the Lord God, the One judging her, is strong.
