I pray, O Jehovah, please remember how I have walked always before Your face in truth, and with a perfect heart, and I have done the good in Your eyes. And Hezekiah wept with a great weeping.
And I know, my God, that You try the heart and are pleased with uprightness; I, in the uprightness of my heart, have offered willingly all these things; and now I have watched with joy Your people who are present here offering willingly to You.
I confessed my sin to You, and I have not hidden my iniquity; I said, I will confess over my transgression to Jehovah; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Righteous are You, O Jehovah, when I might contend with You, yet let me speak with You of Your judgments. Why does the way of the wicked ones prosper? Why are all at ease, those who act deceitfully, with deceit.
But this shall be the covenant that I will cut with the house of Israel: After those days, a statement of Jehovah, I will put My Law in their inward parts, and I will write it on their hearts; and I will be to them for God, and they shall be to Me for a people.
And I will cut an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from them, to do good to them. But I will put My fear in their heart, that they shall not depart from Me.
O Jehovah, Your eyes, are they not for faithfulness? You struck them, but they felt no pain. You consumed them, yet they refused to take correction. They made their faces harder than rock; they have refused to turn back.
For our glorying is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we had our conduct in the world in simplicity and sincerity of God, not in fleshly wisdom, but in the grace of God, and especially toward you.
And Jehovah said to Samuel, Do not look on his appearance, and not to the height of his stature, for I have rejected him. For man does not see what He sees. For man looks for the eyes, but Jehovah looks for the heart.
