I will open my mouth in a parable; I will pour forth dark sayings of old,

to understand a proverb and an enigma; the words of the wise ones, and their riddles.

And I said, Ah, Lord Jehovah! They are saying of me, Does he not speak in parables?

And in the latter time of their kingdom, when those transgressing have finished, a king, strong of face and skilled at intrigues, shall stand up.

I speak to him mouth to mouth, and by an appearance, and not in riddles; and he looks upon the form of Jehovah. So why have you not been afraid to speak against My servant, against Moses?

And he took up his parable and said, He has led me from Aram, Balak king of Moab; from the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse Jacob for me; and, come, be indignant with Israel.

so that was fulfilled that spoken through the prophet, saying: “I will open My mouth in parables; I will speak out things hidden from the foundation of the world.” Psa. 78:2

Therefore, as many things as you said in the darkness will be heard in the light; and whatever you spoke in the ear in the secret rooms will be proclaimed on the housetops.

Therefore having such hope, we use much boldness.
