He does not withdraw His eyes from the righteous one, but they are like kings on the throne; yea, He causes them to sit forever, and they are very high.

Will you trust him because his strength is great; or will you leave your labor to him?

They have bowed down and have fallen, but we have risen and stand upright.

For they did not inherit the land with their own sword; yea, their own arm did not save them. But it was Your right hand and Your arm and the light of Your face, because You favored them.

And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, together with all the army of Pharaoh, those going after them, into the sea. And not even one was left among them.

I turned back and saw under the sun that the race is not to the swift ones, and the battle not to the mighty ones, and not even bread to the wise one, and not even riches to discerning ones; and not even favor to ones knowing. For time and occurrence happen to them all.

How do you say, We are mighty and strong men for the war?

So says Jehovah, Do not let the wise man glory in his wisdom, and do not let the mighty one glory in his might. Do not let the rich man glory in his riches.

You have plowed wickedness; you have reaped iniquity. You have eaten the fruit of lies because you trusted in your way, in the multitude of your mighty men.

And refuge shall perish from the swift, and the strong one shall not strengthen his power, and not shall the mighty one save his life,

and he who handles the bow shall not stand, and the one swift with his feet shall not save, and he who rides the horse shall not save his life.

And now, give to me this mountain, of which Jehovah spoke in that day, for you heard in that day how the sons of Anak were there, and great walled cities. If Jehovah shall be with me, then I shall dispossess them, as Jehovah has spoken.

And Jehovah said to Gideon, The people with you are too many for Me to give Midian into their hands, that Israel not glorify itself against Me, saying, My hand has delivered me.

And Jehovah said to Gideon, The people are still too many. Bring them down to the water, and I will refine them for you there. And it shall be, he of whom I say to you, this one shall go with you, he shall go with you. And any of whom I shall say to you, This one shall not go with you, he shall not go.

And a man between the two came out from the armies of the Philistines, Goliath was his name, from Gath; his height was six cubits and a span.

He keeps the feet of His godly ones, and the wicked ones are silenced in darkness; for not by power a man is mighty.
