If anyone thinks to be religious among you, yet not bridling his tongue, but deceiving his heart, this one’s religion is vain.

To the chief musician, to Jeduthun. A Psalm of David. I said, I will keep my ways from sinning with my tongue; I will keep my mouth with a muzzle while the wicked one is before me.

Put no faith in a companion; put no trust in a friend; guard the opening of your mouth from her who lies in your bosom;

For we all stumble in many ways. If any one does not stumble in word, this one is a mature man, able also to bridle the whole body.

Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking guile;

My mouth is filled with Your praise, with your glory all the day.

I became mute and still; from good I was silent, and my pain was stirred.
