The butterings of his mouth were smooth, but war was in his heart; his words were softer than oil, but they were as drawn swords.

For the sin of their mouth is the word of their lips, even let them be taken in their pride, and for cursing and the lying which they speak.

Surely, they plotted to cast him down from his exaltation; they delight in lies; they bless with their mouth, but they curse in their inward parts. Selah.

A revealer of a secret walks about as a gossip, so do not meddle with him who opens his lips.

A multitude of men will proclaim each his own kindness, but who can find a faithful man?

A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his steps.

But you shall say to them, This is the nation that does not obey the voice of Jehovah their God, and does not receive instruction. Truth has perished, and it is cut off from their mouth.

Their tongue is a slaughtering arrow; it speaks deceit. One speaks peace with his neighbor with his mouth, but in his inner part he sets his ambush.

For there shall not again be every vain vision and slippery divination within the house of Israel.

The godly one has perished from the earth, and the upright one is not among mankind. All of them lie in wait for blood; each man hunts his brother with a net.

For such ones do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth speech and fine speeches they deceive the hearts of the ones without guile.

For neither were we then found with a word of flattery, even as you know, nor with pretense of covetousness (God is witness),

he is a double-souled man, unstable in all his ways.
