And these are the heads of the province who lived in Jerusalem; but in the cities of Judah, a man lived in his possession in their cities; Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the temple-slaves, and the sons of Solomon’s servants.
They shall come with weeping, and I will lead them with supplications. I will cause them to walk by torrents of waters, in a right way; they will not stumble in it. For I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is My first-born.
So says Jehovah, Stand by the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, where the good way is, and walk in it; and you shall find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.
Whether two days, or a month, or days, when the cloud was prolonged over the tabernacle, to remain over it, the sons of Israel remained in camp, and did not pull up stakes. And when it was lifted up, they pulled up stakes.
But now they stretch forth to a better, that is, a heavenly land. Therefore, God is not ashamed of them, for Him to be called their God; for He prepared a city for them.
For it was better for them not to have fully known the way of righteousness than fully knowing it to turn from the holy commandment having been given over to them.
