For the wicked one boasts of his soul’s desire, and he has blessed the covetous; scorning Jehovah.

And number to yourself an army like the army that fell from you, even horse for horse and chariot for chariot; and we shall fight with them in the plain; Are we not stronger than they? And he listened to their voice and did so.

If I have made gold my hope or have said fine gold is my trust;

And they open their mouth wide against me; they say, Aha! Aha! Our eyes have seen.

For in his life he blessed his soul; yea, men praise you when you do well for yourself.

Those who trust in their wealth and in their many riches boast themselves.

You shall destroy those speaking lies; Jehovah will despise the man of blood and deceit.

To the chief musician. A Contemplation. A Psalm of David when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David has come to the house of Ahimelech. Why do you boast yourself in evil, O mighty one? The mercy of God is all the day.

They pour out, they speak impudent things; all the workers of evil speak proudly.

The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my soul shall be filled with them; I will draw my sword; my hand will destroy them.

Those forsaking the law praise the wicked one, but those keeping the law strive with them.

All things I have seen in the days of my vanity; there is a just one who perishes in his righteousness, and there is a wicked one who prolongs his life in his evil.

Whom have you reproached and reviled? And against whom have you lifted up your voice, and lifted up your eyes on high? Against the Holy One of Israel!

For I was angry and struck him for the iniquity of his unjust gain; I hid Myself and was angry; yet he went, turning back in his heart’s way.

But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and injury, and to do oppression.

And I shall destroy your high places and cut down your altars, and shall put your dead bodies on the carcasses of your idols. And My soul shall loathe you.

Woe to him gaining evil gain for his house, to set his nest in the height, to be snatched from the palm of evil!

And He said to them, Beware, and be on guard from covetousness; for one’s life is not in the abundance of the things belonging of him.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have many goods laid up for many years; take rest, eat, drink, and be glad.

having been filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, iniquity, covetousness, malice, being full of envy, murder, quarrels, deceit, evil habits, becoming whisperers,

who having known the ordinance of God, that the ones practicing such things are worthy of death, not only do them, but also approve the ones practicing them.

nor thieves, nor covetous ones, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor rapacious ones shall inherit the kingdom of God.

For be knowing this, that every fornicator, or unclean one, or covetous one, who is an idolater, has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

and it happens when he hears the words of this curse, that he should bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, even though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to snatch away the drunken with the thirsty.

And Jehovah looked and despised them because of the provocation of His sons and of His daughters.

Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion; bad lust, and covetousness, which is idolatry;

Come now, the ones saying, Today or tomorrow we will go into this city, and we will spend one year there, and we will trade and will make a profit,

but now you boast in your presumptions. All such boasting is evil.

Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him,

And he said to his mother, The eleven hundred pieces of silver which were taken from you, and you uttered a curse, even also speaking in my ear; behold, the silver is with me. I have taken it. And his mother said, Blessed be my son by Jehovah.

And Saul said, You are blessed of Jehovah, for you have had pity on me.
