The wicked one in his pride will pursue the afflicted one; they will be caught in the schemes which they have devised.

because he did not remember to do kindness; and he persecuted the afflicted and needy one, even to cause the broken of heart to die.

Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the proud oppress me.

O that my ways were fixed to keep Your statutes!

The proud have smeared a lie against me; I will keep Your precepts with all my heart.

The proud have dug pits for me which are not according to Your Law.

The proud ones have hidden a trap and cords for me; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.

Let the lying lips be silenced which speak recklessly against the righteous one with pride and scorn.

Do not let the foot of pride come to me; and let not the hand of the wicked ones move me.

For the sin of their mouth is the word of their lips, even let them be taken in their pride, and for cursing and the lying which they speak.

His mischief shall turn back on his own head, and his violence shall come down on his own crown.

Now I know that Jehovah is greater than all the gods; truly, in the way in which He acted proudly against them.

You still are exalting yourself against My people, so as not to send them away.

His own iniquities shall capture him, the wicked one, and he shall be held with the cords of his sin.

For you have said in your heart, I will go up to the heavens; I will raise my throne above the stars of God, and I will sit in the mount of meeting, in the sides of the north.

They that see you shall stare and consider you, saying, Is this the man who made the earth tremble, shaking kingdoms,

Azariah, the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan, the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, then spoke, saying to Jeremiah, You speak falsely. Jehovah our God has not sent you to say, Do not go to Egypt, to sojourn there.
