Proverbs 9:8

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Do not reprove one scorning, lest he hate you; reprove a wise one, and he will love you.

And they told the king, saying, Behold, Nathan the prophet! And he came in before the king and bowed himself to the king, his nose to the earth.

And King David said, Call Zadok the priest for me and Nathan the prophet, and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada. And they came in before the king.

And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Yet one man, to seek Jehovah by him. But I hate him, for he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil, Micaiah the son of Imlah. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so.

Let the righteous one strike me; it is a mercy; and he rebuking me, it is oil of the head, let not my head refuse it; for yet my prayer also shall be against their evils.

The wise ones hear and increase learning, and he understanding gets wise counsel,

The wise of heart accepts commands, but the lips of the foolish one shall be thrust away.

A wise son hears his father’s instruction, but a scorner does not hear rebuke.

Poverty and shame shall be to him letting chastening go, but he who keeps to chastisement shall be honored.

A scorner does not love one who corrects him; he will not go to the wise one.

Strike a scorner and one of simplicity will become shrewd; reprove a discerner, and he will discern knowledge.

Buy the truth, and sell it not, also wisdom, and instruction and understanding.

Do not speak in the ears of a fool, for he will despise the prudence of your words.

He who reproves a man afterwards finds grace, more than he who flatters with the tongue.

A man of chastisements who hardens his neck shall be broken with suddenness, and there will be no healing.

But they were silent, and did not answer him a word; for it was the king’s order, saying, Do not answer him.

You shall not hate your brother in your heart; reproving you shall reprove your neighbor, and not allow sin on him.

Leave them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind; and if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit.

Do not give that which is holy to the dogs, nor throw your pearls before the pigs, that they should not trample them with their feet, and turning, they charge you.
