Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a hand, and as a bird from the fowler’s hand.

Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the fowlers’ snare; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.

For He delivers you from the fowler’s snare, from the plague of destruction.

For in vain the net is spread in the sight of every lord of the wing.

I adjure you by the gazelles, or by the does of the field, O daughters of Jerusalem, that you not stir up, and that you not awaken my Love until it pleases.

My Beloved is likened to a gazelle, or to a young deer, the stag. Behold, He stands behind our wall, peering from the windows, sparkling from the lattice.
