A man who loves wisdom gladdens his father, but one feeding ones doing adultery wastes wealth.

The proverbs of Solomon: A wise son makes a father rejoice, but a son who is a fool is a mother’s sorrow.

A wise son makes a glad father, but a man who is a fool despises his mother.

A man who loves pleasure shall have poverty, he who loves wine and oil shall not be rich.

A treasure to be desired and oil are in the dwelling of the wise ones, but a man who is a fool swallows it.

My son, if your heart is wise, my heart shall rejoice, even I.

My son, become wise and give joy to my heart, so that I may return a word to one taunting me.
