Proverbs 29:1

A man of chastisements who hardens his neck shall be broken with suddenness, and there will be no healing.

And Elijah the Tishbite, of the sojourners of Gilead, said to Ahab, As Jehovah the God of Israel lives, before whom I stand, there shall be no dew nor rain these years, except according to my word.

And he answered, I have not disturbed Israel, but you and the house of your father, in that you have forsaken the commands of Jehovah, and you have gone after the Baals.

And he said to him, So says Jehovah, Because you have sent away the man I had devoted from your hand, therefore your life shall go for his life, and your people for his people.

And Micaiah said, If you at all return in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me. And he said, Hear, O people, all of them.

And it happened, as he spoke with him, that he said to him, Have we given you as a counselor to the king? Stop yourself! Why should they strike you? And the prophet stopped, and said, I know that God has counseled to destroy you because you have done this, and have not listened to my counsel.

And Jehovah spoke to Manasseh and to his people, and they did not listen.

And also he rebelled against King Nebuchadnezzar, who had made him swear by God; and he stiffened his neck and hardened his heart from turning to Jehovah the God of Israel.

And You testified against them to bring them back to Your Law, but they acted presumptuously, and did not listen to Your commands, but were against Your judgments; they sinned in them, which a man doing, he shall live in them. And they gave a rebellious shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.

He is wise in heart and mighty in strength; who has been hard against Him and been at peace?

And Pharaoh sent, and behold, not even one was dead from Israel’s livestock! And Pharaoh’s heart was made heavy, and he did not send away the people.

Blessed is the man who is always in awe of God! But he who hardens his heart falls into an evil way.

One walking blamelessly shall be saved, but a crooked one in his ways shall fall at once.

When the wicked ones rise, a man hides himself; but when they perish, the righteous ones multiply.

On account of this, calamity shall come suddenly; he is broken quickly and there is no healing.

And now do not be mockers, lest your bonds be made strong. For I have heard from the Lord Jehovah of Hosts that a full end even is decreed on all the earth.

Because I knew that you are hard, and your neck is a sinew of iron, and your brow bronze.

Rejecting have You rejected Judah? Or has Your soul loathed Zion? Why have You stricken us and no healing is for us? We looked for peace, but no good came; and for a healing time, but, behold, terror!

But they did not obey nor stretch out their ear, but they made their neck stiff, not to hear, and not to take instruction.

And I will call him to account, and his seed and his servants for their iniquity. And I will bring on them, and on the people of Jerusalem, and on the men of Judah, all the evil that I have spoken against them. But they did not listen.

Shall not those who bite you rise up suddenly, and those who shake you be aroused, and you become a prize to him?

I do not speak concerning all of you; I know whom I chose out; but that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “The one eating the bread with Me lifted up his heel against Me.” Psa. 41:9

Jesus answers, It is that one to whom I, having dipped the morsel, shall give it. And dipping the morsel, He gave it to Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon.

Indeed, then, this one bought a field out of the reward of unrighteousness; and falling headlong, he burst in the middle, and all his bowels poured out.

to take the share of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.

For when they say, Peace and safety! Then sudden destruction comes upon them, like the birth-pain to the one having babe in womb, and they shall not escape, not one.

If a man sins against a man, then God shall judge him. But if a man sins against Jehovah, who shall pray for him? But they did not listen to the voice of their father because Jehovah desired to cause them to die.

And this shall be the sign to you, that which shall come on your two sons, on Hophni and Phinehas: in one day the both of them shall die.
