And he said to him, My lord knows that the children are tender, and the flocks and the herds with me are sucklings and nursers. If they overdrive them one day, all the flocks will die.
And he built towers in the wilderness, and dug many wells, for he had many cattle, both in the low country and in the plain; also he had farmers and vinedressers in the mountains, and in Carmel; for he was a lover of the earth.
Hear the Word of Jehovah, O nations, and declare in the isles from far away, and say, He who scattered Israel will gather him and keep him, as a shepherd feeding his flock.
As the shepherd seeks his flock in the day that he is among his scattered sheep, so I will seek out My sheep and will deliver them from all the places where they were scattered in a day of cloud, and thick cloud.
and said to them, Set your heart on all the words which I have testified against you today, that you command your sons to take heed to do all the words of this Law.
And his eldest brother Eliab heard when he spoke to the men. And Eliab’s anger burned against David. And he said, Why is it you have come down? And with whom have you left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know your pride and the evil of your heart, for you have come down to see the battle.
