He sending messages by a fool’s hand cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.

Like vinegar to the teeth, and like smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy one to those who send him.

A wicked messenger falls into an evil way, but a faithful envoy is healing.

Like the cold of snow in harvest time, so is a faithful messenger to those sending him, for he refreshes his master’s soul.

Answer a fool according to his foolishness, lest he be wise in his own eyes.

As the legs of the lame one are weak, so a proverb in the mouth of fools.

And the men who had gone up with him said, We are not able to go up against the people, for it is stronger than we.
