Your eyes shall look on strange women, and your heart shall speak perverse things;

They who sit in the gate meditated on me; and I was the song of drinkers of fermented liquor.

to deliver you from the evil way, from the man speaking perversity;

Wine is a mocker, strong liquor is stirring, and each one straying by it is not being wise.

yes, you shall be as one who lies down in the heart of the sea, or as he who lies on the top of a mast,

lest they drink and forget what is decreed, and pervert the right of all sons of affliction.

They drank wine and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, and of bronze, of iron, wood, and stone.

In the day of our king, the rulers have sickened themselves with the heat of wine; he draws out his hand with scorners.
