Proverbs 23:13

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Do not withhold correction from a boy, for if you strike him with the rod, he will not die.

One holding back his rod is hating his son, but he loving him seeks him with correction.

Chasten your son, for there is hope, and do not lift your soul on making him die.

Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a boy; the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.

Bring your heart in for instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge.

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a boy sent off causes shame to his mother.

Discipline your son, and you will get rest, and it will give delight to your soul.

If you endure discipline, God is dealing with you as with sons; for who is the son whom a father does not discipline?
