The rich one rules over the one being poor, and the one borrowing is servant to a man who lends.

And a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets had cried to Elisha, saying, My husband, your servant, is dead. And you know that your servant has seen Jehovah. And the one who loaned has come to take my two boys to himself for slaves.

One oppressing the poor one curses his Maker, but one honoring Him favors the needy one.

The one being poor speaks with entreaties, but the rich one answers fiercely.

One oppresses the poor one to increase riches to him, he gives to the rich one, only to come to poverty.

Rob not the poor one because he is a poor one, and do not crush the afflicted one in the gate.

And as it is with the people, so with the priest; as with the servant, so with the master; as with the maid, so with her mistress; as with the buyer, so with the seller; as with the lender, so with the borrower; as with the creditor, so with the debtor.

So says Jehovah: For three transgressions of Israel, and for four, I will not turn back from it, for they sold the righteous one for silver, and the needy one for a pair of sandals,

Hear this Word, cows of Bashan who are in the mountain of Samaria, those press- ing down the poor ones, those crushing the needy ones, who say to their husbands, Bring in, that we may drink.

Hear this, you who pant after the poor one, even to make the humble one of the land to cease,

in order to buy the poor one with silver, and the needy one for a pair of sandals, and sell the chaff of the wheat?

But he not having any to repay, the lord of him commanded him to be sold, also his wife and children, and all things, as much as he had, and to be repaid.

But you dishonored the poor man. Do not the rich ones oppress you, and they drag you to judgment seats?

Come now, rich ones, weep, howling over your miseries, the ones coming upon you.

Behold, the wages of the workmen having reaped your fields cry out, being kept back by you. And the cries of the ones having reaped have entered “into the ears of the Lord of Hosts.” Isa. 5:9
