A Lesson of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my law; stretch out your ears to the words of my mouth.

So teach us to number our days, so that we may bring a heart of wisdom.

to receive instruction in prudence, righteousness, and judgment, and uprightness;

Bring your heart in for instruction, and your ears to the words of knowledge.

These also are for the wise ones: to know faces in judgment is not good.

My son, do not forget My law, but let your heart guard My commands,

The words of wise ones are as goads; yea, as nails driven in are the masters of collections, they are given from one Shepherd.

And I turned my heart about, to know, and to search out, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, and the foolishness of madness:

When I gave my heart to know wisdom, and to see the task that is done on the earth; for even by day and by night he does not see sleep in his eyes.

All this I have seen. I gave my heart to every work that is done under the sun. There is a time in which a man rules over a man for an evil reason to him.

Stretch your ear and come to Me; hear, and your soul shall live; and I will cut an everlasting covenant with you, the faithful mercies of David.
