Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

And when Haman saw that Mordecai was not bowing down and kneeling to him, then Haman was filled with fury.

And Haman came in. And the king said to him, What shall be done to the man whom the king is delighting to honor? And Haman said in his heart, To whom would the king delight to do honor more than to myself?

And they hanged Haman on the wooden gallows which he had prepared for Mordecai. And the king’s wrath lay down.

Pride comes, then shame comes, but with those being humble is wisdom.

He loving strife loves transgression; he exalting his entrance seeks a breaking in.

Before shattering, a man’s heart is haughty, but humility goes before honor.

The pride of man brings him low, but the humble of spirit takes hold of honor.

The fear of Jehovah is to hate evil; I hate pride and loftiness, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth.

And it happened as he was worshiping in the house of his god Nisroch, even his sons Adrammelech and Sharezer struck him with the sword. And they escaped into the land of Ararat. And his son Esar-haddon reigned in his place.

Your dreadfulness has deceived you, the pride of your heart, you who live in the clefts of the rock, who hold the height of the hill; though you should make your nest as high as the eagle, I will bring you down from there, a statement of Jehovah.

And the proud shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him up. And I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall burn up everything round about him.

Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. I have cast you to the ground. I will put you before kings, that they may see you.

And the land of Egypt shall become for a desolation and a waste, and they shall know that I am Jehovah, because he has said, The River is mine, and I have made it.

And having borne away the multitude, his heart will be lifted up. And he will cause myriads to fall, but he shall not be strong.

And you, his son, O Belshazzar, have not bowed your heart, though you knew all this.

Then the palm of the hand was sent from Him, and this writing was written.

Then he began to curse and to swear, I do not know the man. And immediately a cock sounded.

and coming, he who invited you and him will say to you, Give this one place. And then you begin with shame to take the last place.

Well! For unbelief they were broken off. And you stand by faith. Do not be highminded, but fear.

He should not be a novice, lest being puffed up he may fall into the devil’s judgment.

And the king of the sons of Ammon did not listen to the words of Jephthah which he sent to him.

And the Philistine looked, and he saw David, and disdained him, for he was a youth, even ruddy, with a handsome appearance.
