Sell the things belonging of you and give merciful gifts. Make for yourselves purses that do not grow old, an unfailing treasure in Heaven, where a thief cannot come near, nor moth can ruin.
You are already being satiated; you already became rich; you reigned without us (and I would that you really did reign, so that we also might reign together with you!)
Hear, my beloved brothers, did not God choose the poor ones of this world to be rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which He promised to the ones loving Him?
I know your works, and the affliction, and the poverty; but you are rich. And I know the blasphemy of the ones saying themselves to be Jews, and they are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.
Because you say, I am a rich one, and I am made wealthy, and I have need of nothing, and do not know that you are the wretched one and miserable one and poor one and the blind one and the naked one.
