A merciful man does good to his own soul, but the cruel one troubles his own flesh.

He shall suck the poison of asps; the viper’s tongue shall slay him.

One gaining unjust gain troubles his own house, but one hating bribes shall live.

The good of eye, he is blessed, for he gives of his bread to the poor one.

There is one alone, and there is not a second; and there is not a son or a brother to him; and there is not an end to all his labor; even his eyes are not satisfied with riches; and he says, For whom do I labor, and my soul be without good? This is also vanity; yea, it is an evil task.

The righteous one perishes, and no man lays it on his heart; yea, merciful men are gathered, with no one discerning that the righteous one is gathered from the face of evil.

So, O king, let my counsel be pleasing to you: Even break off your sins by righteousness, and your iniquities by pitying the humble one, whether there will be duration to your prosperity.

Blessed are the merciful! For they shall obtain mercy.

Give, and it will be given to you; good measure, pressed down and shaken together, and running over, they will give into your bosom. For the same measure which you measure, it will be measured back to you.

Not that I seek a gift, but I seek the fruit, the one multiplying to your account.

For judgment will be without mercy to the one not doing mercy. And mercy rejoices over judgment.
