Like vinegar to the teeth, and like smoke to the eyes, so is the lazy one to those who send him.
Like the cold of snow in harvest time, so is a faithful messenger to those sending him, for he refreshes his master’s soul.
As one removing a garment in a cold day, and as vinegar on soda, so a singer with songs on a bad heart.
He sending messages by a fool’s hand cuts off his own feet and drinks violence.
Go to the ant, lazy man; see her ways and be wise;
who say, Draw near to yourself! Do not come near me, for I am holier than you! These are a smoke in My nose, a fire burning all the day.
And answering, his lord said to him, Evil and slothful slave! You knew that I reap where I did not sow, and I gather where I did not scatter.
in diligence, not slothful, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;
that you not become dull, but imitators of the ones who through faith and long-suffering are inheriting the promises.
