Hear Me, pursuers of righteousness, seekers of Jehovah: Look to the rock from which you were cut, and to the hollow of the pit from which you were dug.
And we shall know, we who follow on to know Jehovah. His going forth is prepared as the dawn. And He shall come to us as the rain, as the latter and former rain to the earth.
Therefore having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilements of flesh and of spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another; that not whatever you may will, but these things you do.
But, nay, rather I also count all things to be loss because of the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whose sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them to be trash, that I might gain Christ
But we ought to thank God always concerning you, brothers, having been loved by the Lord, because God chose you from the beginning to salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth,
being witnessed by good works, if she brought up children, if she was hospitable, if she washed the feet of the saints, if she relieved afflicted ones, if she followed after every good work.
and to a festal gathering and an assembly of the first-born ones having been enrolled in Heaven; and to God the Judge of all, and to spirits of just ones who have been perfected;
perfect you in every good work, in order to do His will, doing in you that which is pleasing in His sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be the glory forever and ever. Amen.
Now the God of all grace, the One having called you to His eternal glory in Christ Jesus, you having suffered a little, Himself will perfect, confirm, strengthen, establish you.
