But the others out of love, knowing that I am appointed for defense of the gospel.
Therefore put into your hearts not to premeditate to make a defense.

doing nothing according to intrigue or self-glory, but in humility, esteeming one another, as being better than themselves;
to which I was appointed a herald and apostle (I speak the truth in Christ, I do not lie), a teacher of the nations, in faith and truth.
in which I suffer hardship as an evildoer, unto bonds; but the Word of God has not been bound.
In my first defense no one came to my aid, but all deserted me. May it not be reckoned to them.
