A thousand shall fall by your side, and a myriad at your right hand; it shall not come near you.

therefore so says Jehovah, Behold, I will watch over Shemaiah the Nehelamite and his seed. There shall not be to him a man living among this people; and he shall not behold the good which I shall do for My people, a statement of Jehovah, because he has uttered rebellion against Jehovah.

And fire went out from before Jehovah and burned them up; and they died before Jehovah.

And they sent out an evil report of the land which they had spied out to the sons of Israel, saying, The land into which we passed, to spy it out, is a land eating up those living in it. And all the people we saw in its midst were men of stature.

I shall strike it with pestilence and dispossess it. And I will make you a nation greater and mightier than it.

But Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh, remained alive of those men that went to spy out the land.

And fire came forth from Jehovah and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered the incense.

And those who died by the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, besides those who died for the matter of Korah.

And the people contended with Moses, and spoke, saying, Oh that we had died when our brothers died before Jehovah!

And the ass saw Me and turned aside before Me these three times. If she had not turned aside surely now I would have killed you and saved her alive.

And those that died by the plague were twenty-four thousand.

Neither murmur, as also some of them murmured, and were destroyed by the destroyer.

But God was not well-pleased with most of them, “for they were scattered in the wilderness ” Num. 14:16

But with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with the ones sinning, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?

And to whom did “He swear” “they would not enter into His rest,” except to the ones having disobeyed? LXX-Psa. 94:11; MT-Psa. 95:11

But I purpose to remind you, you once knowing these things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed the ones not believing.
