Numbers 14:29

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

Your dead bodies shall fall in this wilderness, even all your numbered ones, as to your whole number, from twenty years old and upward, in that you have murmured against Me.

and He lifted up His hand to them, to make them fall in the wilderness;

and He ended their days in vanity, and their years in sudden terror.

And I will purge from among you the ones rebelling and the ones transgressing against Me. I will bring them out of the land where they sojourn, and they shall not come into the land of Israel. And you shall know that I am Jehovah.

And all those numbered of the sons of Israel by their fathers’ house, from a son of twenty years and upward, all able to go out to war in Israel;

even all those that were numbered were six hundred and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

And among these there was not a man of those numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest, who numbered the sons of Israel in the wilderness of Sinai.

For Jehovah had said to them, Dying they shall die in the wilderness, and not a man of them should be left except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

But God was not well-pleased with most of them, “for they were scattered in the wilderness ” Num. 14:16

And the days in which we came from Kadesh-barnea, until we had crossed over the torrent Zered, were thirty-eight years, until the end of all the generation, even the men of war were destroyed from the midst of the camp, as Jehovah swore to them.

But with whom was He angry forty years? Was it not with the ones sinning, whose corpses fell in the wilderness?

For the sons of Israel had walked forty years in the wilderness, until all the nation, the men of war who had come out from Egypt were consumed, those who did not listen to the voice of Jehovah, to whom Jehovah had sworn to them not to cause them to see the land which Jehovah swore to their fathers, to give to us, a land flowing with milk and honey; these were consumed.

But I purpose to remind you, you once knowing these things, that the Lord, having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, in the second place destroyed the ones not believing.
