And it happened, when I heard these words, I sat down and wept, and mourned for days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of Heaven.

Then I answered them and said to them, The God of Heaven, He will prosper us, and we, His servants, will arise and build. But you have no portion or right or memorial in Jerusalem.

Then the king said to me, For what do you ask? So I prayed to the God of Heaven,

So nations shall fear the name of Jehovah, and all the kings of the earth Your glory.

O give thanks to the God of Heaven; for His mercy endures forever.

There by the rivers of Babylon we sat down; also we wept when we remembered Zion.

In those days, I, Daniel, was mourning three weeks of days.

that they might pray for the mercies of God in Heaven about this secret, that Daniel and his companions should not perish with the rest of the wise men of Babylon.

And I set my face toward the Lord God, to seek by prayer and holy desires, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes.

And he said to them, I am a Hebrew. And I fear Jehovah, the God of Heaven, who has made the sea and the dry land.

I will gather the ones afflicted from the appointed place; they were from you, a lifting up of reproach over her.

Rejoice with rejoicing ones, and weep with weeping ones;
