With what shall I come before Jehovah, to bow down before the loftiness of God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, with calves, sons of a year?

But hearing this, they were pierced in the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, Men, brothers, what shall we do?

And crying with a loud voice, he said, What is to me and to You, Jesus, Son of the most high God? I adjure You by God, do not torment me.

And, behold, coming near, one said to Him, Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?

Then Nebuchadnezzar drew near to the door of the furnace of burning fire. He answered and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego, servants of the Most High God, come out and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego came out of the midst of the fire.

And bringing them outside, he said, Sirs, what must I do that I may be saved?

Following after Paul and us, she cried out, saying, These men are slaves of the Most High God, who proclaim to us a way of salvation!

Jesus answered them and said, Truly, truly, I say to you, You seek Me not because you saw miraculous signs, but because you ate of the loaves of bread and were satisfied.

And behold, a certain lawyer stood up, testing Him and saying, Teacher, what by doing shall I inherit eternal life?

And he was driven from the sons of men. And his heart was made like the beasts, and his abode was with the wild asses. They fed him with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the heaven, until he knew that the Most High God is ruling in the kingdom of men, and that He appoints over it whomever He wills.

As for you, O king, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar a kingdom, and majesty, and glory, and honor.

O Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no secret constrains you, speak to me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and its meaning.

O come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before Jehovah our Maker.

All the fat ones of the earth have eaten, and have worshiped; all those going down to the dust shall bow before Him; and he kept not his own soul alive.

And David said to the Gibeonites, What shall I do for you? And with what shall I atone, and you bless the inheritance of Jehovah?

A flock animal, a male without blemish, a son of a year, shall be to you. You shall take from the sheep or from the goats.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

“and to love Him from all the heart,” and from all the understanding, “and from all the soul, and from all the strength;” and “to love one’s neighbor as oneself” is more than all the burnt offerings and the sacrifices. Lev. 19:18; Deut. 6:4, 5

And indeed every priest stands according to a day ministering, and often offering the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins.

one bull, a son of the herd. one ram, one he-lamb, a son of a year, for a burnt offering;

And Samuel said, Does Jehovah delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold! Obeying is better than sacrifice; to give attention is better than the fat of rams.

Let us go before His face with praise; let us shout to Him with songs.

And Lebanon is not enough to burn, nor are its beasts enough for a burnt offering.

Why is this to Me; frankincense comes from Sheba, and the good cane from a land afar off? Your burnt offerings are not for acceptance, and your sacrifices are not sweet to Me.

But when the people of the land come before Jehovah at the appointed feasts, he who comes in by way of the north gate to worship shall go out by way of the south gate. And he who comes in by way of the south gate shall go out by way of the north gate. He shall not go out by way of the gate by which he came in, but shall go out opposite it.

They shall go with their flocks and with their herds to seek Jehovah, but they shall not find Him; He has withdrawn Himself from them.

For though you offer Me burnt offerings and your food offerings, I will not be pleased; and not will I regard the peace offerings of your fat animals.

You shall keep the Feast of Unleavened Bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I have commanded you, at the set time of the month of Abib. For in it you came out from Egypt, and they shall not appear before Me empty.

What shall I return to Jehovah for all His benefits to me?

The sacrifice of the wicked one is a disgusting thing to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright one is His delight.

For Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice is to be chosen more than sacrifice.
