O peoples, suffer evil, and be broken! And give ear, all from the far places of the earth; gird yourselves and be broken. Gird yourselves and be broken!

For every boot of the one trampling is with shaking, and war-garments rolled in blood, even it shall be for burning, fuel for the fire.

behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, says Jehovah, and Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, My servant; and I will bring them against this land, and against those living in it, and against all these nations round about. And I will completely destroy them, and make them a horror, and a hissing, and everlasting ruins.

The lion has come up from his thicket, and a destroyer of nations has set out. He has left his place to make your land a waste. Your cities will fall into ruins without one living in them.

He gives his cheek to the One smiting him; he is filled with reproach.

You shall be to the fire for food. Your blood shall be in the midst of the land. You shall not be remembered, for I, Jehovah, have spoken.

Son of man, write for yourself the name of the day, this very day. The king of Babylon has leaned toward Jerusalem in this very day.

Know, then, and understand that from the going out of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem, to Messiah the Ruler, shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks. The broad place shall be built again, and the wall, even in times of distress.

Call this among the nations: Sanctify a war; awaken the mighty men; let all the men of war draw near; let them come up.

And I will cut off he who judges from its midst, and I will kill all his rulers with him, says Jehovah.

For, behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, the bitter and impetuous nation that is going into the broad spaces of the land, to possess dwellings not belonging to him.

I heard, and my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the sound. Rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled within myself that I might rest for the day of distress; to come up against the peoples, he cuts him off.

And spitting at Him, they took the reed and struck at His head.

but I say to you, Do not resist the evil; but whoever strikes you on the right cheek, turn the other to him also.

But on His having said these things, one of the under-officers standing by gave Jesus a slap, saying, Do You answer the high priest thus?

and said, Hail, King of the Jews! And they were giving Him slaps.

But Ananias the high priest ordered those standing by him to strike his mouth.

For you endure if anyone enslaves you, if anyone devours you, if anyone takes away from you, if anyone exalts self, if anyone beats you in the face.

Jehovah shall lift up a nation against you from afar, from the end of the earth, as the eagle flies; a nation whose tongue you will not understand,

The God of old is a refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. And He shall cast the enemy out from before you, and shall say, Destroy!

And there was a young man of Bethlehem in Judah, of the family of Judah; and he was a Levite. And he resided there.
