Micah 2:4

King James 3 - The Literal Traslation

In that day one shall lift up a parable against you and lament a lament of lamenting. He says, Devastating we shall be devastated. He has changed the portion of my people. How He has removed it for me! To the one turning back He has divided our fields.

And David chanted this dirge over Saul, and over his son Jonathan;

And Jeremiah lamented for Josiah; and all the singers and the songstresses speak in their lamentations of Josiah to this day, and gave them as a statute in Israel; and behold, they are written in the Lamentations.

And Job continued the lifting up of his parable, and said:

you shall lift up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say: How the exacter, the gold gatherer, has ceased!

The land shall completely be emptied and plundering will be plundered, for Jehovah has spoken this Word.

And I said, Until when, O Lord? And He said, Until cities lie desolate without one living in them, and the houses without man, and the land is laid waste, a desolation;

If I go out into the field, then I see those pierced with the sword. And if I enter into the city, then, behold, diseases of famine! Yes, both the prophet and the priest have gone around into a land that they do not know.

Behold, he shall come up like clouds, and his chariots like a windstorm. His horses are swifter than eagles. Woe to us, for we are plundered!

And their houses shall be turned to others, fields and wives together. For I will stretch out My hand on those living in the land, a statement of Jehovah.

So I will give their wives to others, their fields to those who possess them. For everyone from the least even to the greatest cuts off a profit; from the prophet and to the priest, everyone deals a lie.

I will take up a weeping and a wailing for the mountains and a dirge for the pastures of the wilderness. For they are burned up, without a man passing through. Yea, they do not hear the voice of cattle. From the fowl of the heavens and to the beast, they have fled; they are gone.

I will also scatter them among the nations which they have not known, and not their fathers. And I will send the sword after them until I have consumed them.

Behold, all who use proverbs shall use this proverb against you, saying, As the mother, so is the daughter.

And He spread it before me, and it was written on the face and the back. And written on it were weepings, and mourning, and woe.

Gird up and lament, priests. Howl, ministers of the altar. Come, pass the night in sackcloth, ministers of my God. For the food offering and the drink offering are held back from the house of your God.

Wail like a virgin girded with sackcloth over the husband of her youth.

Hear this word which I am lifting up against you, a dirge, O house of Israel.

And wailing shall be in all vineyards, for I will pass in your midst, says Jehovah.

I will bring dispossessing to you again, O one living in Mareshah. The glory of Israel shall come to Adullam.

On account of this I will wail and howl; I will go stripped and naked; I will make a wailing like the jackal, yea, mourn like the daughters of the ostrich.

Rise up and go! For because of destroying uncleanness, even a painful destruction, this is not your rest.

Shall not all of these lift up a parable against him, and a mocking riddle to him, and say, Woe to him who increases what is not his! Until when is he loading the pledges on himself?

Gathering I will completely gather away all from on the face of the land, a statement of Jehovah.

And he took up his parable and said, Rise up, Balak, and hear; give ear to me, son of Zippor.

And he took up his parable and said, He has led me from Aram, Balak king of Moab; from the mountains of the east, saying, Come, curse Jacob for me; and, come, be indignant with Israel.

And he took up his parable and said, The statement of Balaam the son of Beor, and the statement of the man whose eyes are opened;

And he took up his parable and said, The statement of Balaam the son of Beor, and the saying of the man whose eyes have been opened;

And they sought to seize Him, and feared the crowd. For they knew that He spoke the parable against them. And leaving Him, they went away.

And you shall grope at noonday as the blind grope in darkness. And you shall not prosper in your ways. And you shall be always oppressed and plundered all the days; and there will be no one to save.
