And it happened after these things, Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard which was in Jezreel near the palace of Ahab the king of Samaria.

Surely yesterday I have seen the blood of Naboth, and the blood of his sons, a statement of Jehovah. And I will repay you in this portion, a statement of Jehovah. Now, then, take him up, throw him into the portion of Naboth, according to the Word of Jehovah.

If my land cries out against me, or its furrows weep together;

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male slave, or his slave-girl, or his ox, or his ass, or anything which belongs to your neighbor.

Jehovah will enter into judgment with the old ones of His people, and their rulers. For you have eaten up the vineyard, the plunder of the afflicted one is in your houses.

Woe to those touching house to house, bringing near field to field until the end of space! And you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!

But your eyes and your heart lust for nothing but your unjust gain, and to shed innocent blood, and injury, and to do oppression.

he has oppressed the poor and needy ones; plundering he plundered; he has not returned the pledge, and has lifted up his eyes to the idols; he has done abominations;

In you they have taken bribes in order to pour out blood. You have taken interest and increase, and you have gained by extortion of your neighbor. And you have forgotten Me, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.

And behold! I have struck My palm against your unjust gain which you have made, and at your blood which has been in your midst.

You stand on your sword, and you each man do disgusting things, defiling his neighbor’s wife, and shall you possess the land?

So says the Lord Jehovah: Enough for you, O rulers of Israel! Turn away violence and oppression, and do judgment and righteousness. Lift away your acts of violence from My people, a statement of the Lord Jehovah.

And the prince shall not take of the people’s inheritance, oppressing them from their possession. He shall bequeath to his sons from his possession, so that My people shall not be dispersed, each man from his possession.

And He said to me, Son of man, have you seen? Is it a light thing to the house of Judah from doing the disgusting things which they do here? For they have filled the land with violence and have returned to provoke Me to anger. And, behold, they are putting the branch to their nose!

panting for the dust of the earth to be on the head of the poor one, and stretch out the way of the humble one. And a man and his father will go in to the same girl, in order to profane the name of My holiness.

Hear this Word, cows of Bashan who are in the mountain of Samaria, those press- ing down the poor ones, those crushing the needy ones, who say to their husbands, Bring in, that we may drink.

Hear this, you who pant after the poor one, even to make the humble one of the land to cease,

Please hear this, heads of the house of Jacob, and magistrates of the house of Israel, you who abhor justice and pervert all uprightness,

Whose rich ones are full of violence, and ones living in her speak a lie, and their tongue is deceit in their mouth.

And I will draw near to you for judgment; and I will be a swift witness against those divining, and against ones doing adultery, and against those swearing to a lie; and against those who extort from the hired laborer’s pay; and turning away the widow, and the fatherless, and the sojourner, and the one not fearing Me, says Jehovah of Hosts.

But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

For the love of money is a root of all evils, by means of which some stretching toward it were led astray from the faith, and they themselves pierced through by many pains.
