And he said, I have seen all Israel scattered on the hills like sheep that there is no shepherd to them. And Jehovah said, No lords are to these; they shall each man return to his house in peace.
And he said, I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep with no shepherd for them; and Jehovah said, For these, no master. Let them return, each man to his own house in peace.
My people are lost sheep, their shepherd has led them astray; they turned them back on the mountains, they have gone from mountain to hill; they have forgotten their resting place.
For the family idols speak iniquity, and the divining ones have seen a lie and have told false dreams; they comfort in vain. Therefore they pulled up stakes like a flock; they were afflicted because there was no shepherd.
For, behold, I will raise up a shepherd in the land; he shall not care for those who are cut off; not will he seek the young; not will he heal that which is broken; not will he sustain that which stands. But he shall eat the flesh of the fat, and tear off their hoofs.
who may go out before them, and who may go in before them, and who may lead them out, and who may bring them in, so that the congregation of Jehovah may not be as sheep to whom there is no shepherd to them.
But having called His disciples near, Jesus said, I am filled with pity on the crowd, because they already have remained with Me three days and have nothing they may eat. And I do not desire to send them away fasting, that they may not faint in the way.
And going out, Jesus saw a large crowd, and had compassion on them, because “they were as sheep having no shepherd.” And He began to teach them many things. Num. 27:17; Eze. 34:5
For we do not have a high priest not being able to sympathize with our infirmities, but One having been tried according in all things according to our likeness, apart from sin.
