But going, learn what this is, “I desire mercy and not sacrifice.” For I did not come to call righteous ones, but sinners to repentance. Hos. 6:6

For Jehovah, to do righteousness and justice is to be chosen more than sacrifice.

For I desired faithfulness, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.

But He said to them, Have you not read what David did, when he and those with him hungered?

Or have you not read in the Law that on the sabbaths the priests in the temple profane the sabbath and are guiltless?

But if you had known what this is, “I desire mercy and not sacrifice,” you would not have condemned the guiltless. Hos. 6:6

“and to love Him from all the heart,” and from all the understanding, “and from all the soul, and from all the strength;” and “to love one’s neighbor as oneself” is more than all the burnt offerings and the sacrifices. Lev. 19:18; Deut. 6:4, 5

And hearing, Jesus says to them, Those who are strong have no need of a physician, but those badly having illness. I did not come to call the righteous ones to repentance, but sinners.

And He said to him, Which has been written in the Law? How do you read it?

For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the thing having been lost.

And repentance and remission of sins must be preached on His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.

And answering, Jesus said to them, The ones who are sound have no need of a healer, but the ones badly having illness.

I did not come to call the righteous ones, but sinners to repentance.

This One God has exalted as a Ruler and Savior to His right hand, to give to Israel repentance and remission of sins.

The Lord of the promise is not slow, as some deem slowness, but is long-suffering toward us, not purposing any to perish, but all to turn one’s self to repentance.
