Surely from their fruits you shall know them.

Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by the fruit.

From their fruits you shall know them. Do they gather grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?

For each tree is known from its own fruit. For they do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush.

And now I say to you, stand off from these men and leave them alone; because if this counsel is of men, or this work, it will be destroyed.

My brothers, a fig tree is not able to produce olives, or a vine figs. So neither can a fountain produce both salt and sweet water.
