And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the open streets so that they may appear to be seen of men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.

The sacrifice of the wicked one is a disgusting thing to Jehovah, but the prayer of the upright one is His delight.

A disgusting thing to Jehovah is everyone proud in heart; though hand join in hand he shall not be free from guilt.

And when you spread out your palms, I will hide My eyes from you; also, when you multiply prayer, I will not hear. Your palms are full of bloods.

Then you shall call on Me, and you shall go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.

And when he had learned that the writing was signed, Daniel went to his house. And his windows were open in his roof room toward Jerusalem. He knelt on his knees three times in the day, and prayed and praised before his God, as he was doing before.

And all things, as many things as you may ask in prayer, believing, you shall receive.

But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you shut up the kingdom of Heaven before men; for you do not enter, nor do you allow those entering to go in.

But they do all their works to be seen by men. And they make their phylacteries broad and enlarge the borders of their robes.

And they love the first couch in the suppers, and the first seats in the synagogues,

Take care not to do your merciful deeds before men in order to be seen by them. But if not, you have no reward from your Father in Heaven.

And when you fast, do not be as the hypocrites, with sullen face, for they disfigure their faces so that they may appear to men to be fasting. Truly I say to you that they have their reward.

Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, do not trumpet before you as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, so that they may be glorified by men. Truly I say to you, They have their reward.

Pray, therefore, to the Lord of the harvest that He send out workers into His harvest.

And when you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive it, so that your Father in Heaven may also forgive your deviations.

And He said to them in His teaching, Watch out from the scribes, the ones desiring to walk about in long robes, and desiring greetings in the marketplaces,

Woe to you, Pharisees! For you love the chief seat in the synagogues and the greetings in the marketplaces.

And He also spoke a parable to them to teach that it is always necessary to pray, and not to be wearied

And the tax collector, standing afar off, would not even lift up his eyes to Heaven, but smote on his breast, saying, God, be merciful to me, the sinner!

who devour the houses of the widows, and under pretense pray long. These will receive a more abundant judgment.

But woe to you, rich ones, for you have your comfort!

Until now you asked nothing in My name; ask, and you will receive, so that your joy may be filled.

through all prayer and petition, praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and being alert to this same end, with all perseverance and petition concerning all the saints.

But He gives greater grace. Because of this it says, “God sets Himself against proud ones, but He gives grace to humble ones.” Prov. 3:34
