And while Ezra was praying and making his confession, weeping and casting himself down before the house of God, a very great congregation of men and women and children gathered to him out of Israel. For the people wept with a very great weeping.

I confessed my sin to You, and I have not hidden my iniquity; I said, I will confess over my transgression to Jehovah; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

One covering his transgressions will not prosper, but the one confessing and forsaking them shall have pity.

I indeed baptize you in water to repentance; but He who is coming after me is stronger than me, whose sandals I am not able to lift. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

And all the Judean country and those of Jerusalem went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

And he will turn many of the sons of Israel to the Lord their God.

John answered all, saying, I indeed baptize you with water; but He stronger than I comes, of whom I am not fit to loose the thong of His sandals. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire,

for John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit not many days after.”

And many of the ones having believed came confessing, and reporting their practices.

And now what are you going to do? Rising up, be baptized and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Which Antitype now also saves us; baptism, not a putting away of the filth of the flesh, but a demand of a good conscience toward God through the resurrection of Jesus Christ;

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous that He may forgive us the sins, and may cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
