Then Jerusalem and all Judea went out to him, and all the surrounding region of the Jordan,

And when Jesus had been born in Bethlehem of Judea in the days of Herod the king, behold, wise men arrived from the east to Jerusalem,

And large crowds followed Him from Galilee and Decapolis, and Jerusalem, and Judea, and beyond the Jordan.

And all the Judean country and those of Jerusalem went out to him, and were all baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.

The Law and the Prophets were until John; from then the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone is entering into it by force.

And he came into the region around the Jordan proclaiming a baptism of repentance for remission of sins,

Then he said to the crowds going out to be baptized by him, Offspring of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the coming wrath?

And John was also baptizing in Aenon, near Salim, for many waters were there. And they were coming and were being baptized.

That one was the burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to exult in his light for an hour.
