And being assembled with the elders, and taking counsel, they gave enough silver to the soldiers,
But as they were leaving, the Pharisees took up a council against Him, how they might destroy Him.
And they, having gone, behold, some of the guard coming into the city reported to the chief priests all things that occurred.
saying, Say that the disciples of Him came and stole Him by night, we being asleep.
Then the chief priests and the Pharisees assembled a sanhedrin, and said, What are we doing? For this man does many miraculous signs?
And they were persuaded by him. And calling the apostles, and having scourged them, they charged them not to speak on the name of Jesus, and set them free.
